Discovered by British surveyor William Cameron, the Empire used this region as a major tea plantation, to help with trade amongst the colonies.

The three main towns of Ringlet, Tanah Rata and Brinchang are reminders of the old days of colonial rule. Some beautiful old-style architecture can still be seen and some are now hotels and guesthouses.
