Sitting at nearly 2,000m above sea level, The Cameron Highlands is a popular hilltop holiday spot. The cool, fresh air on the highlands is a relief from the fast pace of city life and the Highlands is the perfect spot to cultivate tea, due to the cool climate.
Discovered by British surveyor William Cameron, the Empire used this region as a major tea plantation, to help with trade amongst the colonies. The three main towns of Ringlet, Tanah Rata and Brinchang are reminders of the old days of colonial rule. Some beautiful old-style architecture can still be seen and some are now hotels and guesthouses.
Blue skies, clear streams and numerous colourful flowers make The Cameron Highlands an idyllic spot to escape the rest of the world! Ye Olde Smokehouse
