Kampar

Kampar is situated in the famous Kinta Valley, once the biggest producer of tin in the world. After the recession of the 1980's, many companies closed, leaving Kampar like a ghost town.

Modern day Kampar is a fast growing township thanks to the Commerce and Industrial sector. The population is a mix of Malays, Chinese, Indian and many other minorities giving the town a rich culture. Highlights include the variety of food available.

Festivals are celebrated in style here. Chinese New Year is the big one in Kampar. During festivities you can see lion-dances, fire-crackers and cultural shows.
