Kinabalu Park
With a vast area of over 750sq.km, Kinabalu Park is one of Sabah's greatest attractions. Lowland rainforest, montane oaks, shrubs and wild berries, and conifers at the highest point.

Mt. Kinabalu
At just over 4,000m, Mt. Kinabalua is South East Asia's highest peak and the focal point of the park. The mountain itself was formed less than a million years ago after a granite plug forced itself upwards through the sandstone rocks of the Crocker Range.

Over time wind and rain eroded away the softer rocks before the Ice-Age carved the jagged granite peaks. Mt. Kinabalu is still growing, at approx. 5mm per year.

State Mosque

KK's central worship point. A stylish building with domes and golden motifs.

Sandakan
Formerly the capital of British North Borneo, Sandakan was an important trading post for Europeans, Arabs, Chinese and Indians.
