Malaysia, Sarawak is home to 27 ethnic groups, each with their own unique
cultures and traditions. Nowhere else in Asia is tropical adventure so

One of the more beautiful cities in S.E. Asia, Kuching has all the
modern facilities but still keeps it's old world charm. Multi-storey buildings
sit side by side with old colonial day shops and houses.

is the main gather point for the locals. The sunsets over Matang mountains
are quite awesome. A walk along the waterfront is the perfect place to

Belaga
This was the last major settlement on the Rejang river and here you can
mix with all of the town's ethnic groups as they come to trade or meet
friends. Tourists are still a novelty in Belaga so don't be surprised
if you are invited to join the locals for a drink or social gathering.
These are genuinely friendly people.
Kapit
Founded by the 2nd White Rajah as a garrison town to pacify the warring
tribes. Today, Kapit is a vibrant commercial centre catering to the local
communities.
Fort Sylvia
Built in 1880 by Rajah Charles Brooke, the fort houses a fine collection
of ethnic arts and sketches and water colors of life on the river.
Miri
Sarawak's most popular tourist area. The town has a good nightlife and
has regular visitors from neighboring Brunei. Miri is within easy reach
of national parks, huge rivers, adventure travel and some of the best
scuba diving in Borneo. Miri has good beaches and dozens of lively restaurants,
pubs and bars.
Bario Highlands
Just a short boat ride along the Baram river from Miri.
Sibu
An old Chinese town, founded by immigrants at the turn of the century.
In recent years Sibu has grown thanks mainly to the timber industry. The
town's Chinese origins are highlighted by the beautiful seven-storey pagoda
in Tua Pek Kong Temple. Sibu town centre has numerous small shops and
a lively night market.
